MRS. LETTIE REDFORD CLEGG, 60, died 19 Jan 1950 at Logan, Utah. She was born 11 Feb 1889 at Wellsville, Utah a dau of Joseph Smith Redford & Janette Bell Beveridge Redford. She married 5 Jan 1912 to Robert William Clegg in Logan Temple. Survivors, her husband, one son & two daughters, Owen D. Clegg & Mrs. Louette Mickelson, Mrs. Donette Young; seven brothers & sisters, Henry Redford, Mrs. Violet Sorensen, William Redford, Mrs. Zinna Ruud & Robert Redford. Burial at Grace, [Idaho].

IRA L. “BUD” STODDARD died at his home in Kelly, Ida. 29 Jan 1950. He was born in Farmington, Utah a son of Elanthrop & Sarah Steed Stoddard. He married Mattie Scott 16 June 1836 at Logan, Utah. Survivors – his widow, 4 daughters – Mrs. Barbara Rose, Mrs. Donna Martena, Mrs. Betty Jennings, Fern Stoddard; two sons – Jack Stoddard & Bob Stoddard; two step sons Raymond & Raleigh Scott. RUDITH BEUS, 60, died 23 Feb 1950 at his home in Soda of a heart attack. Funeral 26 Feb at Soda. He was born in Soda 8 July 1890 son of Louis P. Beus & Mary Terry Beus. He married Leona Densley in Pocatello [Idaho] 7 June 1916. Survivors, his widow, Leona, two sons Leon and Arnold, four daughters – Thelma Erb and Freda Hines, Jean & Verna Beus. Two sons Kenneth & William preceeded (sic) him in death. MRS. DOROTHY ARZELLA NOURSE, 48, died 24 Feb 1950 at her home in Salt Lake [Utah]. She was a daughter of William & Dora Cates Winschell. She was born 12 June 1901 in Soda Springs. She was married to Harold Nourse 23 Sept 1923 in Pocatello [Idaho]. Survivors – her husband, a daughter Mrs. Cleo LaVerl Roskelley, 3 brothers, Louis F. Winschell, Harry W. Winschell, Lester E. CARRIE RUUD QUALMAN, 62, died 2 March 1950 in Soda Springs. She was born 28 Sept 1887 at Lago [Idaho], a daughter of Andrew A. and Olive Olsen Ruud. She was married to William McFadden in 1910. He died 1914. On December 14, 1938 she was married to George Qualman in Soda. Surviving, her husband, four sisters & three brothers, Mrs. Olive Tharpe, Mrs. Irene Colburn, Mrs. Nellie Stephenson, Mrs. Lula McCarthy, Glen, Andrew & Norman Ruud. GEORGE H. MILLWARD died 5 March 1950 at his home. Burial in Chesterfield [Idaho] Cemetery 8 March 1950. He was born 15 March 1873 at Ophir, Utah a son of George E. and Eliza Montroe Millward. He married Ada M. Call in Salt Lake Temple. Survivors – four sons, Albert Millward, Tiffany Millward, Bic (Vic) & Otto Millward.

CRAIG PARKER HOWELLS, 12, son of w. Dean & Alpha Johnson Howells, died 21 March 1950 at Logan [Utah] hospital. He was born at Ogden [Utah] in April 1937. Survivors, his parents – three brothers, Art, Stephen & Robert Howells – grandparents Mr. & Mrs. David J. Howells & Mr. & Mrs. Chris Johnson. Funeral 23 March Where? Burial ?

GEORGE T. ALLSOP died 22 March 1950 at Soda Springs hospital. He was born 15 March 1885 at Perry, Idaho, son of John Ira Allsop & Mary Tanner Allsop. He married Eliza Christensen 4 Oct 1905 & [married] in Logan Temple 8 Feb 1906. Survivors: the following children, Mattie Christensen, Della Cornelison, Ivar J. Allsop, Don F. MRS. MANASSAH WILLIAMS, 71, died 23 April 1950 at Pocatello [Idaho]. She was married to Manassah Williams 1901 in Soda. Survivors: her husband, 3 daughters, 2 brothers.

MRS. C. R. GURLEY died 22 April in Los Angeles [California]. Funeral 27 April at Mattell’s Chapel. Burial in Inglewood Park Cemetery. Mrs. Gurley was the former Tana Williams of this city. Survivors her husband C. R. Gurley and a son & daughter, Kenneth Gurley and Mrs. John Ellis.

EUGENE CALDWELL, 20, died 21 May 1950 in Jackson, Wyo. hospital.

ALTINA W. BROWN DAVIS died at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. A. (Alta) Childs at Bancroft [Idaho] 2 June 1950. She was born in Springville, Utah 25 Mar. 1864 to John C. and Susan Melverton Witbeck. She married David C. Brown 30 Nov 1882. Six children were born to this union. On 18 Jan 1911 she married W. C. Davis. Survived by 3 sons & one daughter, Alta B. Childs, Dr. W. W. Brown, Mel C. Brown & W. Shirley Brown. Following brothers & sisters: Mrs. J.V. Hampton, Mrs. Ovanda W. Kearns, Mrs. Eva Jensen & Alma Witbeck. Her husband, David C. Brown, U. C. Davis & two sons Dr. Dee J. RAEO CHRISTENSEN OLSEN, 19, was killed in car-train accident 23 July 1950 Soda. He was born 27 March 1931 at Grace [Idaho], a son of Alexander & Ethel Christensen Olsen. Survivors – his father & stepmother, Mrs. Barbara Hazen Olsen & brother George Olsen, stepsisters Anetta, Joelene & Patsy Olsen. Burial in Grace Cemetery 26 July 1950.

LEON NORSTROM, 37, died 6 Aug 1950 from a mine accident at Conda [Idaho]. Surviving – his wife Roberta Harriman Norstrom, two sons – Buddy Leon Norstrom, age 13. Roy Wayne, age 9, and dau Roberta Gay, age 7. five sisters – Mrs. Elma Beck, Mrs. Jay Stephenson, Mrs. Enid Fryar, Mrs. Anita Lloyd, Mrs. Orpha Comish. Funeral 9 Aug Burial?

T. W. (JUDGE) HORSLEY died 19 Aug 1950 in Pocatello. He was born in Providence, Utah 24 May 1868, the son of Thomas William and Sophia Edgehill Horsley. Oct 15 1888 he married Minnie Francis (sic) Rose in Soda. To this union were born 5 children – 4 boys & one girl. Two boys preceeded (sic) their father in death, Lew K. and Ted R. Horsley. The three surviving are LeRoy C. Horsley, Mrs. Harvey T. Rutherford, John R. Horsley, also his wife, two sisters – Mrs. Amy Miles & Mrs. Amelia Rose. Funeral Aug 21, 1950 at Soda. Burial in Soda.

MRS. GEORGE W. SHULER, died 25 Aug 1950 at Soda. Funeral 27 Aug in Soda. Burial? Iva Belle Tipton was born 7 March 1900 at Townsend, Tenn. the youngest in a family of eight children born to Mr. & Mrs. William Riley Tipton, Asbury, Oscar, Hank, Lloyd & Ollie were the brothers, Dora & Sally were the sisters. Iva married George W. Shuler at Marysville, Tenn. 25 Jan 1917. They had three children, Margaret Shuler Hansen (deceased), Geo. W. Shuler, Jr. & Don H. Shuler.

EDWIN JAY BECKWITH, 23, of Montpelier [Idaho] was killed in car accident. He died in the Soda hospital 27 Aug 1950. He was the son of Mrs. Stena Beckwith. Born & raised in Montpelier. Funeral 30 Aug in Montpelier.

MRS. ALICE ELLEN CAMPBELL BURGI, 74, died in a (sic) Ogden [Utah] hospital Sept 1950. She was born 15 May 1876 in Soda Springs, a daughter of Jared Edward & Hannah Alice Babcock Campbell. She married George Horsley Thanksgiving day 1876 in Soda Springs. He died 1 Dec 1931 in Soda. On 21 April 1948 she married Fred Burgi in Ogden. He died 2 Feb 1950. Surviving – the following daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ann) Davy, Mrs. Milton (Rhea) Edgehill, Mrs. DeReese (Marguerite) Hansen, Mrs. A. S. (Margery) Allen; the following brothers & sisters – Mrs. Lois Jensen, O. B. & Charles Campbell, Mrs. Beulah Tolmie, Ray Campbell, Mrs. Grace Beus, Mrs. Ruth Young, Mrs. Alva French. Burial ?

HEBER F. JOHNSON of Bancroft [Idaho] was killed when [he] fell from a scaffold while working on new chapel Sept 1950. Funeral 23 Sept 1950 at Bancroft. Burial ? He was born 30 July 1886 at Richmond, Utah. June 10 1914 he married Edna Caroline Shepard in L.D.S. Temple. Survivors – his widow – 2 daughters, Mrs. Lowell Call, Mrs. Gwen Raymond.

JOSEPH HYRUM ARGYLE, 82, of Bancroft [Idaho] died 21 Sept 1950 at Pocatello hospital. Funeral 25 Sept 1950 at Bancroft. Burial ? He was born 5 July 1868 at West Bountiful [Utah] the eldest of 11 children. He married Elizabeth Kynaston 2 Nov 1892 at Lg [Logan] Temple. She preceeded (sic) him in death 23 yrs ago. Seven children were born to this union, 6 of whom are still living. Mrs. Delpha Aston, John Argyle, Mrs. Ethel Rawlins, Mrs. Roy Hogan, Mrs. Leonard Tolman & Delbert Argyle.

HAROLD F. CUMMINS, 43, was found dead near Chesterfield [Idaho] 5 Oct 1950 of a gunshot wound in the head. Funeral 7 Oct 1950 in Soda. Burial in Soda.

WM HOWARD TAFT MINTON, 39, of Conda [Idaho] was killed while hunting deer in the mt (sic) [mountains] near Conda 14 Oct 1950. Funeral 22 Oct 1950 in Conda. Burial in Dodge City, Kan. Survived by his wife, Loretta Minton & three children, Jeannie, Darlene and David; his mother Zada Minton.

ROBERT MARK THOMPSON died 3 Nov 1950 in Reedsport, Oregon [in an auto accident]. He was born 9 Nov 1915. Funeral 7 Nov 1950 at Portland, Oregon. Then later graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery in Soda. Survived by his wife Vivianne Lallatin Thompson & sons Roger Mark 8 yrs, Spencer Keith 5 yrs & Christopher Louis age 1; his parents Louis and Lottie Thompson, three sisters, Caryl Heatfield, Charlotte Pauley, Lois Wicks.

DICK LARSEN & JACK SPENCER drown(ed) in lake at Blackfoot Reservoir north of Soda Thanksgiving evening 1950 [Nov. 23]. Roy Richard (Dick) Larsen was born 17 Oct 1935 in Turner, Ida. a son of H.C and Laverda Larsen. Besides his parents he is survived by one brother Earl Robert Larsen – three sisters Alicie Lucille Larsen, Vickey Dawn Larsen & Mrs. Elaine Gibson. John Thomas (Jack) Spencer was born 3 Dec 1935 in Turner, the son of Elmer & Ila Thomas Spencer. Besides his parents he is survived by brothers, Glen, Harold & James Spencer and sisters Joy Benson, Roma Mendenhall, Barbara Skinner and Shirley Spencer. Funeral 29 Nov at Williams [Idaho] Ward. Burial in Turner Cemetery.

MRS. LOIS BUSBY, the bride of William Busby since 25 Nov was killed in car-train accident 29 Nov 1950. Lois Jones, age 16 and William Busby, age 18 were married in Brigham City [Utah] 25 Nov 1950. Lois was the dau of Mr. & Mrs. Marcellace Jones. She is survived by six sisters & one brother, as well as her parents. She was the 4th child in the family of eight. Burial in Brigham City Cemetery.

MRS. EDITH PATRICIA JANSEN died 28 Nov 1950 in Idaho Falls [Idaho}, She was born 7 March 1890 in Big Cottonwood, Utah a daughter of William & Matilda Seversen Christensen. She married William Jansen in S.L.C. [Utah] 1938. Mr. Jansen died 4 July 1950. Survivors – two sisters, Mrs. Dora Rinehart, Mrs. Iva Miner, one half brother Orville Graham. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. Funeral 1 Dec 1950 in Soda.

MARGARET H. HATCH, age 86, died 1 Dec 1950 in Soda hospital. Margaret Higginson Hatch was born at Hyde Park, Utah 17 July 1847. She married Ransom Hatch 14 Oct 1885 in Lg [Logan] Temple. Mr. Hatch died 37 yrs ago. Seven sons & one daughter survive – R. O. Hatch, Stearns Hatch, Mrs. Lew Moore, William Hatch, Frank Hatch, Ira Hatch, Kenneth Hatch. Services held 4 Dec at Bancroft [Idaho]. Burial Chesterfield [Idaho] Cemetery.

MORRIS DAVID LOW, 63, died 8 Dec 1950 in Salt Lake City [Utah]. Burial in Paris [Idaho] Cemetery.

[Mr. Low served as principal of Soda Springs High School for several years and was a very well loved educator].

MRS NORMA LINDIMAN WOODS, 49, died 29 Dec 1950 at the Caribou Hospital in Soda. She was born in Ogden, Utah 22 July 1907. Survivors: her husband Harley Woods, a son by a previous marriage, Richard Niece, three brothers Dan Lindiman, Otto Lindiman, Robert Lindiman. Funeral 31 Dec 1950 at Soda. Body was taken to Englewood, Calif. for burial

MRS. ROSE CALKINS SKINNER, 45, died at her home in Conda [Idaho] 1 Jan 1951. Born in Ammond (sic) [Ammon], Idaho 21 April 1904, a daughter of Orson B. and Mary Calkins. She married Theodore Skinner 1923. Survivors – her husband, daughters Shirley May, Loraine & two sons, Dallas & Brian. Another son, Eldon Skinner preceeded (sic) her in death. Also survived by her mother Mary Calkins, two brothers, William Calkins, Albert Calkins, six sisters, Mrs. Dewey (Pearl) Skinner, Mrs. James (Elna) Staynor, Mrs. Fred (Clarice) Larsen, Mrs. Leon (Minnie) Poorman, Mrs. Johnny (Nora) Pyper and Grace Krogh. MRS. ROSINA REBER HOPKINS, 73, died 24 Jan 1951 at the home of her daughter, Ethel Crump of Pocatello, Idaho. She was born in Lorraine, Berne, Switzerland, 13 Aug 1877, the daughter of Rudolph and Rinsina Rohrer Reber. Her father died when she was 3 yr old. Her mother later married Fredrick Beyeler. There were three half brothers, Fred, Charles and Leo. Rosina married Samuel Hopkins 9 Jan 1895. To this union nine children were born. In 1943 her husband was killed in a railroad accident. In June 1947 she had a paralitic (sic) stroke, from which she never recovered. Surviving are two sons and seven daughters, Mrs. Violet Coumerill, Alma R. Hopkins, Mrs. Ethel Crump, Mrs. Ira Neff, Ernest S. Hopkins, Mrs. Eleda Stock, Mrs. Milda Rentleman, Mrs. Edith Ford and Mrs. Jeanette Brecht, three half brothers, Fred Beyeler, Charles Beyeler, Leo Beyeler. Funeral 27 Jan 1951in Soda. Burial in Soda

WILLIAM A. JOHNSON died 2 Feb 1951 (heart attack). He was born 14 June 1890 in Grantsville, Utah. He was preceeded (sic) in death by his wife 4 yrs ago, the 10 Feb 1947. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Leigh. Funeral 3 Feb 1951 in Soda. Burial in Soda Cemetery

MELVIN KIRBY, died 16 Feb 1951 at his home in Spokane, Wash. of heart attack. Funeral 19 Feb in Spokane. Burial in Fairmont Cemetery, Spokane. Survivors – his wife Golda Whidmere Kirby, Father Edward Kirby – eight brothers & 2 sisters, Laffette Kirby, Wesley Kirby, Marvin Kirby, Larenye (sic) [Lozene] Kirby, Frank Kirby, James Kirby, Delbert Kirby, John Kirby, Mrs. Rita Johnson, Mrs. Myrna Wayland.

EMMA HARRIS MILLER, age 69, died in Nebraska? Feb 1951. She was born in England. She married Charles W. Miller in 1912. Mr. Miller died Sept 1943. One son was born 1917, Wm. L. Miller. Services were held 19 Feb 1951 in Pocatello [Idaho]. Burial? Wm. G. Miller of Boise [Idaho] (Lillian Shufeldt’s husband) is a brother-in-law to Mrs. Emma Harris Miller.

JESSE MOORE, age 86, died 2 March 1951 at Soda. Mr. Moore was the first white child to be born at Paris, Idaho on 4 May 1864, the son of Hezekiah D. and Mary Slack Moore. He married Sodine Horsley 20 June 1888 at Blackfoot, Idaho. A daughter was born to this union. Mrs. Moore died 25 Sept 1945. One daughter Cassie S. Piar died 2 Sept 1922. Two daughters, Mrs. Viola Lauritson & Mrs. Jessie Gagon survive. Also a brother Fred Moore. Funeral 4 March 1951. Burial?

MR. THOMAS CUMMOCK RUSSELL, 68 died in the Bear Lake hospital in Montpelier [Idaho] 13 March 1951. He was born 19 Nov 1882 in Almy, Wyo. a son of Thomas & Isabelle C. Russell. He married Cecelia

MR. E. W. LARGILLIERE, SR. died 21 March 1951 at Mesa, Arizona. Edgar W. Largilliere was born at Evanston, Wyoming 69 yrs ago (1882) the son of August and Catherine Largilliere. He is survived by his wife Betty and three children by a former marriage. Mrs. Pauline L. Proval, Mrs. Louise L. Adams and E. W. Largilliere, Jr; one sister Evelyn Largilliere Shields. He was preceeded (sic) in death by one son, Alvin. Funeral 27 March 1951, Burial in Soda. [The Largilliere family owned a bank and general store in Soda]

MRS. HATTIE CALDWELL THOMPSON died in Salt Lake [Utah] hospital 30 March 1951. She was born 14 Nov 1901. Her mother, Mrs. Ida Wright Dunn of Georgetown [Idaho] survives. She married Clyde Thompson in Sept 1930. Two children survive of that marriage – Dean and Glen Thompson. A daughter by a former marriage, Joyce Caldwell Payne. Following step-sons and daughters, Mary Ellen Bennett, Melva Petereit, John C. Thompson, Dell Thompson, Lucine Chatterton, Mrs. Erma Flint; following brothers & sisters, Stewart Dunn, Lloyd Dunn, Drew Dunn, Stanley Dunn, Mrs. Nellie Mymus (sic) probably Hymas), Mrs. Gwen Anderson, & two sisters Maud & Gladys

LLOYD ASHBAKER, 39, died 30 March 1951. He was born 12 July 1911 in Grace, Idaho to Mr. & Mrs. Charles Ashbaker. He married Mildred Corbett in Logan, Utah 23 April 1924. HENRY B. WHITMAN, 83, died 11 April 1951 in ? Born in Como, Ill. 31 Aug 1868, a son of Edwin Clark and Florence Helen Sampson Whitman. Funeral 14 April 1951 in Montpelier. Burial?

NELS PETER JOHNSON, 82, died 24 May 1951 at the family home at Niter, Idaho. He was born 6 June 1896 (sic) [should be 1869] in Richmond, Utah, the son of James & Larsine Nelson Johnson. He married Minnie Whitehead in Richmond in May 1891. She died 30 Dec 1930. He married Libby Bean 8 Nov 1939. Survivors – his wife Libby & the following children – Leo Johnson, Lucian Johnson, Frank Johnson & Denzil Johnson, Ace F. Johnson, Mrs. Chriss Keller; one brother Dan Johnson, one sister Mrs. Mary Bell. Burial in Grace 27 May 1951.

OTTO PETERSEN died 6 June 1951. Funeral 9 June 1951 at Soda. Burial? Otto Peterson was born in Denmark 14 Aug 1875. He married Nora Karen Christina Nielsen 6 May 1895 in the Logan Temple. Born to this union were five children – Darren Otto Petersen, Helen E. Huff, Marie B. Reese, Carl J. Petersen, Ammon Pharis Petersen. Mrs. Petersen preceeded (sic) him in death 1941.

CELSO RODRIGUEZ, 20, was killed 11 June 1951 near Soda -15 miles northeast of Soda. He was a member of a sheep shearing crew. He is survived by Mr. & Mrs. Lorenado Rodriguez of the City of Saminoz, Old Mexico, & a sister Mrs. Reynalda Navarez of Camp Wood, Texas. Burial at Camp Wood.

ALFRED CHAS. SMITH died 21 June 1951 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Dave McLain. Funeral 23 June 1951 at Bancroft [Idaho] Burial? He was born in Logan, Utah 22 March 1951 (sic) [should be 1869]. He married Mary Ellis 25 Nov 1891 in Endowment House. [Salt Lake City, Utah]. MABEL FRANCES POTTER ROOT, died 21 June 1951 in Salt Lake City [Utah]. Funeral 25 June 1951 in Montpelier, Idaho. Burial? She was born 19 Oct 1898 in Silver Star, Montana, a dau of Wesley and Lena Whitmore Potter. On 12 Jan 1915 she married Roy [or Ray] Root in Pocatello [Idaho], Survivors – her husband, a daughter Mrs. Leslie Rasmussen, two sons, Ray W. Root & Captain R. Bruce Root, a sister, Mrs. I. B. Hadley, a brother Arthur Potter of Soda.

ELIZABETH HEAPS ANDERSON, died 14 July 1951 in Nampa hospital. She was born 3 Aug 1868 in Williamsburg, New York. In 1887 she married Andrew S. Johnson in the Logan Temple. Her husband preceeded (sic) her in death 14 June 1919. She was the mother of 12 children, five girls & seven boys. The following survive – Arthur, Verna Anderson of S. L. C. {Utah], Glen Anderson of Soda, Serain Anderson, Annie Hansen, Ada Geysler. Funeral held in Central [Idaho] and burial in Central Cemetery.

ACE ALBISTON, 55, died 16 July 1951 in Concrete, Wash. The body was shipped to Rangeley, Colorado for funeral and burial on 25 July. Survivors – his wife Rosmond, a son Gilbert, daughter Ruthalee – two brothers Wm. Albiston, George Albiston

NEILS HENRY MICKELSEN (OR MICKELSON), 83, died 26 Aug 1951 in Soda Springs. He was born 17 Oct 1867 in Logan, Utah a son of Neils & Laura Ingurm Mickelsen. He married Elisa N. Smith in June 1891 in Logan. She died 2 Dec 1928. KENNETH SIMMONS, 15, son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence D. Simmons was killed (a truck accident) 12 Sept 1951 near Soda Springs. He was born 9 Oct 1936 in Salt Lake City [Utah], a son of Clarence and Vivian Burn Simmons. Survived by his parents & 5 brothers & sisters, Bart, Marylin, Karen Sue, Wendy & Timothy. Burial in the Grace [Idaho] Cemetery.

GEORGE WASHINGTON ELLIS, SR., 83, died 18 Oct 1951 at Soda Springs. Service were (sic) held 22 Oct 1951 at Soda. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda. He was born in Perrysville, Missouri 9 Oct 1868, a son of Willis and Margaret Erwin Ellis. He married Rebecca Wright in 1895. Mrs. Ellis passed away within the year. In 1898 he married Susannah Trappett. To this union were 8 children – two girls having died in infancy. Mrs. Ellis died 5 June 1929. In 1937 he married Argenta Skinner. Survivors: his widow Argenta, one daughter, Mrs. Edna Law, five sons, Homer, John, Howard, George & Jr; one stepson Stephen LeRoy Skinner.

JOURNAL ALONZO PALMER, 80, died 29 Oct 1951 in Soda Springs. He was born in Bloomington, Ida 29 Aug 1871 a son of Journal & Orlena Welker Palmer. He married Amy Jarvis 2 May 1893. 5 children were born to this union, 3 sons & 2 daughters. Burial in Bloomington.

ELIZABETH MEADS died 19 Nov 1951 in Soda. Funeral held 21 Nov in Soda. Burial in Soda Elizabeth Lewis was born 8 July 1845 in Devonshire, England. She married Nathan Meads. He died in 1892. To this union 2 sons were born: Nathan & William M. Meads. Survivors: are the two sons.

MRS. LAURA SMEDLEY FINDLAY, 83, died 12 Feb 1952 at Caribou Hospital in Soda. She was born 6 March 1869 at Leipsig, Delaware. She married Walter Findlay 17 Oct 1894. He passed away in Jan 1938. Surviving – two sons & one daughter – W. L. Findlay, M. H. Findlay, Mrs. Walter Poulsen. Funeral & burial in Paris, Idaho.

WILLIAM S. AYERS died 21 Feb 1952 at Soda. He was born 1 Oct 1861 near Newman, Illinois a son of Nancy Cutler & George Wilbur Ayers. He had 8 brothers and 4 sisters, only one surviving Carl Ayers of Odom, Indiana. He married Maria Bell Boyer 26 April 1886 at Abilene, Kansas. To this union were born 4 girls – two surviving, Mrs. Beatrice McRae & Mrs. Sue Allen. Later he married Mrs. Louella Cornelison at Diamondville, Wyo. To this union was born one son Dale Ayers. Survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Mayme Gorringe, Mrs. Priami Parks and six stepsons, Forest Cornelison, James Cornelison, Ezra Cornelison, Velton Cornelison, Ulyssis Cornelison and Nello Cornelison. MRS. MARY TANNER ALLSOP died 29 Feb 1952. She was born 5 Nov 1862 in Toole (sic) [Tooele], Utah. She married Ira John Allsop 1878. Her husband died 32 years ago. GLADYS DELO died 10 March 1952 in Soda. Gladys Belva Strain Delo was born 8 Oct 1909 at Beardon, Oklahoma. She married John Delo 14 Dec 1933. Funeral 12 March at Soda. NELS J. PETERSON, 82, died 8 April 1952 at Soda. He was born 3 Aug 1869 in Vest Egence Fyen, Denmark, a son of Jense & Gertrude Katherine Mathiasen Peterson. He married Hagar Jane Thatcher 25 April 1900. She and 4 children preceeded (sic) him in death. 7 children were born. She was born 27 April 1887 in High Point, North Carolina and was married to Forest Cornelison 27 March 1905 in Ashboro, N.C. MRS. MINNIE BLACKBURN, 83, died 30 April 1952 at the home of her son in Fruitland, Idaho. Funeral was 3 May in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. Minnie Ola Russel Blackburn was born 16 Sept 1868 in Blue Earth Co. Minnesota a dau of Mr. & Mrs. Ferdinand Russel. She married George Blackburn

4 Feb 1886 in Marion Co. Kansas. 8 children were born. Her husband died 2 Nov 1929. 2 children preceeded (sic) her in death. John was killed in World War I and Bessie died at infancy. Survivors: 4 sons & 2 daughters & one sister; Joe Blackburn, Ben Blackburn, Mabel Elston, Earl Blackburn, Chester Blackburn, Myrtle Campbell; her sister Nellie Blackburn. MRS. JOHANNA MONSON QUALMAN, 98, died at her home in Central [Idaho] 28 April 1952. She was born 6 June 1953 at Rosta Malmar, Sweden, moved to Germany 1865. She married Christian Qualman 28 Oct 1893 at Oberhall, Germany. Her husban (sic) preceeded (sic) her in death 38 years ago. 5 sons of her nine children survive. FRANK A. GUMMERSALL, 71, died 2 May 1952 at Pocatello [Idaho]. He was born in Yorkshire, Eng. [England] 21 Sept 1880 a son of Smith and Phoebe Gummersall. He married Bartha May Griffith 7 June 1907 at Alexander, Ida. She died 11 July 1951. Survived by 11 sons & daughters, Funeral in Pocatello, burial in Mountain View Cemetery. He is the brother of George H. Gummersall & H. S. Gummersall.

W.G. SKINNER, 71, died 11 May 1952 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leah Tremelling at Soda. He was born 11 June 1881 at Nounan, Bear Lake, Idaho, a son of Brigham & Lucy Ann Smith Skinner. He married Louella R. Hill 2 July 1900 at St. Charles, Ida. Survivors: his widow, six daughters, Mrs. Leah Tremelling, Mrs. Lucy Johnson, Mrs. Bertie Marks, Mrs. Rosella Hansen, Mrs. Coretta Hemmert & Mrs. Leslie McCoy; five sons, Clarence, Isaac, Brigham V., Rulon & Lee. One son Fay was killed in Italy – World War II. Funeral 14 May in Soda. Burial Soda.

MRS. CHRISTINA HATCH MOORE, 65, died 28 May 1952 at Soda. She was born in Chesterfield [Idaho] 12 July 1886, a daughter of Ransom & Margaret Higginson Hatch. May 17, 1913 she married Louis Moore at Pocatello [Idaho]. Survivors: her husband, 3 sons, Raymond Moore, Byron Moore & Thomas R. Moore; one daughter Mrs. Margaret Hebdon; 7 brothers, R. ALBERT HANSON, 81, died in Soda Hospital 12 June 1952. He was born 1April 1871 in Salvardo, Dalarna, Sweden. He married Hattire C. Anderson 8 Jan 1897. She died in June 1942. LT. JG. RALPH CROSS, 24, was killed 14 June 1952 in action in Korea. He was born 17 Feb 1928 in Soda, a son of Daniel & Louise Ivory Cross. His father died 26 May 1940. ROBERT O. BAUM, 38, died 21 June 1952 in an auto accident near Grace [Idaho]. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. O. R. Baum of Pocatello. Funeral 24 June. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. MATTIE E. MORGAN, 83, widow of J. O. Morgan died 3 Aug 1952 at Soda hospital. She was born 12 Aug 1869 in Bowenburg, Illinois, the daughter of Mary & William Dimock. G. LEROY WELCH, 17, of Lund [Idaho] died from a gun shot 15 Nov 1952. He was born 4 July 1935 at Blackfoot [Idaho], a son of George T. and Goldie Boggs Welch. Surviving: his parents, 4 brothers, Ellis Welch, Elmer & George & Richard Welch; a sister, Mrs. Wanda Warner.

MRS. BOLITA GRONBERG OLSEN, 82, died 11 Dec 1952. She was born 23 Oct 1870 at Oslo, Norway, the daughter of Bernhart & Marie Gronberg. In 1891 she married Richard Olsen at Ephraim, Utah. Mr. Olsen died 1924 in Ogden [Utah]. Funeral 22 Dec 1952. Survived by 2 sons, Richard W. Olsen & Robert H. Olsen, two daughters – Doris Gentry, Mrs. Iris Birdon. One daughter, Clarrise M. at age 13- a son Oscar died. Also surviving is Mrs. Ella Weaver who she raised from a small girl.

ELBERT W. EASTMAN died 12 Dec 1952. He was born 29 Dec 1886 in Soda Springs, Ida the eldest son of Caroline and Landi C. Eastman. He married Myrtle Long in LaGrande, Ore 30 Nov 1916. Two children were born – Ruby Caroline and Max Elbert Eastman. Max was killed in Germany 19 Dec 1945. Survivors: 3 sons – Anton, Frank & Duane Lallatin; four daughters – Mrs. Lester (Harriett) Coy, Mrs. B. F. (Florence) Noyer, Mrs. Duane (Rosine) Casto, Mrs. B. C. (Alice) Falk, two sisters – Mrs. Loretta Kingston, Mrs. Katherine Heusser. She was preceeded (sic) in death by her husband and three daughters – Mrs. Carl (Elizabeth) Haderlie, Loretta and LaRue Lallatin, one son Ted Lallatin. RAY L. RANDALL (sic) {KENDALL) died 7 March 1953 at Soda Springs. He was born in Nov. 1885 at Ennis, Texas. Managed Enders Hotel until 1950. He is survived by one brother Jess Kendall. Funeral 14 March in Soda & burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda.

THOMAS GEORGE STRATTON [died] 9 March 1953 in Idaho Falls [Idaho]. Funeral services in Idaho Falls 12 March and graveside services 13 March in Logan, Utah. Burial in Logan City Cemetery. He was born 5 Feb 1879 in Logan, Utah a son of George Frederick & Rosanna Fleming Stratton. He married Anna Katherine Peterson in Logan 5 Oct 1905. She preceded him in death in 1923. Four children were born to this marriage of whom one son and two daughters survive; Mrs. Glen (Thelma) Henderson, Floyd Stratton, Mrs. Herman (Alpha) Henderson. One son, George, preceded him in death. He married Edith Standley Kimball 24 Dec 1928 in St. Anthony, Idaho. To them were born 3 children. All survive: A. W. (Bill) Stratton, Mrs. Dale (Alice) Weatherston, Jennie Stratton. Besides his wife he is also survived by three Step children; Mrs. Fred (Edith Ann) Lahman, M. J. HELEN BOLETTA WEAVER FEAGINS, 33, died 26 March 1953 in Soda Springs. Funeral 30 March 1953 in Soda Springs. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. She was born 27 March 1919 at Ogden, Utah. She married Lee Feagins 2 Nov 1942 at Malad, Idaho. To this union 4 children were born, Gloria Jean, Leona Kay, Sherry Rae & Johnny Lee. EMMA BIENZ LAU CHRISTENSEN died 20 Jun 1953 in Soda Springs. She was born in Paris, Ida.10 Oct 1894, a dau of Rudolph and Anna Barbara Bienz. She was one of 10 children, seven of whom are living. She married Hyrum Lau. They had four children. Mr. Lau died, then she married McGee Christensen and a son was born to them. Survived by four children: Margaret Sharp, Kathryn Tanner, Kay Lau, Jack Christensen, brother, Rudolph Bienz, and six sisters, Lena Robinson, Martha Hicks, Hannah Hughes, Clara Smith, Alice Stoor, Lillian Perkins. HENRY C. GORTON, 75, died 12 Aug 1953 in Soda Springs. He was born 5 Aug 1878 in “Old Town” Soda Springs, the eldest child of George W. and Leah M. Gorton. He married Priscilla Terry in 1902. She died 1922. There were no children. Survivors: 4 brothers, R. S. Gorgon, Reese Gorton & George W. Gorton & E Kenneth Gorton; four sisters died in the diphtheria epidemic 1880. WILLIAM EDISON DRAY, age 70, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Meletha Vias in Wayan [Idaho] 19 Sept 1953. He was born 16 March 1863 in Farmington, Iowa the son of Maria Yearian Dray and Henry Dray. He was their only son. Seven sisters preceded him in death. He married Amanda Graham in the 1880’s in Unionville, Md. They had 3 daughters, Meletha Chat, Kate Cecil & Vera Leona. Two sons died in infancy. Mrs. Dray died 2 Mar. 1925. His daughter Kate Bush died 1936. Surviving two daughters, Mrs. Vias and Mrs. Cecil Sibbett. Funeral in Grays Lake [Idaho]. Burial in Smoot, Wyo.

MRS IDA ANDERSON COLLETT, 85, died 1 Aug 1954 in Boise [Idaho]. Funeral 5 Aug 1954. She was born in Soda Springs 18 Sept 1868, the dau of Mary Christopherson & Neils Anderson. She married Tom Collett. They had nine children, six of whom are living. Mr. Collett preceded her in death.
