PERRY M. BINGHAM, 43, of Alexander [Idaho] died in Alexander 22 Jan 1945. He was born at Brigham City, Utah 23 Aug 1901. Survivors: his wife Hertha Bingham, two daughters, Lois & Nolah Bingham, one son, Gordon Bingham. Funeral in Soda, Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

EARL F. VERHAM is reported missing in European Operation. He was born in Soda 5 Aug 1919.

WILLIAM W. ATKINSON, 75, died 26 Jan 1945 at Boise [Idaho]. He was born 8 Oct 1869 at Hagerville, Ont. Canada, a son of Wm. W. and Anne Basford Atkinson. He married Rose Wiedrick 10 Dec 1890. She died in Jan 1912. To this union one daughter and one son was born. On May 3, 1916 he married Ida Hulser of Boise. Surviving, his widow, a daughter Mrs. Pearl Bolin, a son Orliff Atkinson, one sister Mrs. David Jepson. Mr. Atkinson was an uncle of Mrs. Bernice Pickren & the only brother of Mrs. Ruth Strachan. Funeral services in Boise.

EDWIN RAYMOND GARDNER, 56, died 30 Jan 1945 in a hotel in Green River, Wyo. He was born 10 July 1888 in Fish Haven [Idaho] to George E. & Caroline Affleck Gardner. Funeral 2 Feb 1945 in Montpelier [Idaho]. Survivors – his widow Mrs. Ethel Shupe Gardner, two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Bills, Mrs. Alice Jensen; three sons, Merlin, Lester & Ferrel Gardner; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Strong, Mrs. Myrtle Gorton, Mrs. LaRue Johnson, Mrs. Arvilla Bassett, Sut Gardner; three brothers, L. H. Gardner, William & Alva Gardner.

JOSEPH DANIEL GARNER, 74, died at his home in Caldwell [Idaho] 10 Feb 1945. Funeral services were held in Soda 14 Feb 1945. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda. Joseph Daniel was born 25 April 1870 at Tooele, Utah. He married Martha Bower at Cookville, Utah 7 Jan 1902. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Bower Garner, a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Prine, three sisters & one brother.

MRS. ROSETTA GUBER YOST, 69, DIED 8 Feb 1945 at her home in Lund [Idaho]. Funeral 12 Feb at Lund. Burial in Lund Cemetery. Survivors, her husband, four sons, John A., Oscar A., Fred W., Arthur & Herman F. Yost; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Thacker, Mrs. Nellie Blackburn, Mrs. Edna Darlington, Mrs. Evelyn Johnson.

DAVE IRVING died 20 Feb 1945 in Clayton [Idaho]. He was born 19 May 1864 in Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Former resident of Soda. Burial in Clayton

WILLIAM J. “BILLY” HOPKINS, 82, died 23 Feb 1945. Funeral services held 25 Feb in Soda. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda. William John Hopkins was born 8 March 1862 at Ebbyvale, Mammoutshire (sic), South Wales, England, a son of Thomas & Christianna Summerhill Hopkins. He married Rosanna Pierce in Logan Temple on 24 Sept 1896. She preceeded (sic) him in death 6 April 1922.

HATTIE J. HIGGINSON, 88, died at the Caribou Hospital at Soda 26 Feb 1945. She was born 22 Sept 1856 at Brobridge Parish of Stroud, England, a daughter of George and Louisa Taylor. Burial in Chesterfield [Idaho]. She married William T. Higginson 10 Feb 1873 at Goshen, Utah. Mr. Higginson died Nov. 1914.

MRS. EARL BLACKBURN, 39, died in the Ontario [Oregon] hospital 13 Feb 1945. Funeral services 18 Feb in Nyssa, Ore. Burial in the IOOF Cemetery in Vale [Oregon]. She was born 26 Sept 1905 at Grace, Ida. Her maiden name was Clara Amelia Black. She married Earl Blackburn 15 Sept 1925 at Ogden, Utah. Survivors: Her husband, three children, Keith Blackburn, Betty Blackburn & Harold Blackburn.

JASPER PERKINS died 16 March 1945 at his home in Farmington, Utah. Burial 21 March 1945 in Chesterfield [Idaho] Cemetery. Survived by his widow, four daughters & one son, Mrs. Ida Dayton, Mrs. Evelyn Lindsay, Mrs. Will Rigby & Mrs. John Price and Norris Perkins.

FRANK ERVIN ELLIS, 74, died in Pocatello [Idaho] 25 March 1945. He was born 18 Jan 1871 at St. Mary’s Mo, a son of Willis York and Margaret Ervin Ellis. He married Elizabeth Collins at Paris, Idaho 5 Nov 1900. Survivors – his widow, five sons and daughters, Francis C., Fred N. & Leland E. Ellis, Mrs. C. R. Sutherland, Mrs. C. O. Strand, also a brother, George W. Ellis. Funeral 27 March 1945 in Pocatello.

ROBERT K. LALLATIN was killed in action on Iwo Jima 8 March 1945. He was born 11 March 1925 in Soda Springs. Survived by his parents, five sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Relia Nichols, Mrs. Janet McConkie, Mrs. Robert Thompson, Irene Lallatin, Gwen Lallatin, Jay Lallatin, Mark Lallatin, Darrell Lallatin.

JOHN WELSEY GLAUNER, 76, died 8 March [1945] at Wendell, Idaho. Burial in the IOOF Cemetery at Hagerman [Idaho]. Funeral 11 March [1945]. He was born 14 Sept 1868 at Fort Scott, Kans. He married Emma Arminta Sharp 14 May 1894. Seven children were born to this union., Wesley, Roy, Evilena (sic), Sarah, Johnny, Jonathan & Frank, Elvalena, Jonny (sic) & Jonathan preceeded (sic) him in death; one brother William Glauner, three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Eliason, Mrs. Emma Holman & Mrs. John Miller. One sister, Mrs. Elly Ward preceeded (sic) him in death.

LIONEL RICHARDS died in action March 14, 1945 in France. He was married 16 March 1944 at Idaho Falls. He is survived by his parents, his wife & three sisters, Jerry, Diane, Jeanne, and grandfather Joe E. Lau.

JOSEPH BANKS, 80, Bancroft [Idaho] died 7 April 1945 in Caribou hospital. Funeral 10 April in Bancroft. Burial in Spanish Forks Cemetery (sic), Utah 11 April 1945. Survivors – his wife Mrs. Jane Banks, two sons & four daughters, Leo J. Banks, W. Merrill Banks, Mrs. Bessie Clark, Mrs. Dale White, Mrs. Mary Mickelson, Mrs. Erma Jorgensen.

HYRUM WILFORD (BILL) NAEF, died 11 April 1945 in Calif. Funeral 16 April in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. He was a brother-in-law to Sirren Bybee. He was born at Mapleton, Idaho 7 Aug 1898, a son of Hyrum & Elizabeth Ann Baker Naef. In June 1945 he married Fern Bybee in Soda Springs. She preceeded (sic) him in death 20 June 1927. One son was born to this union – Boyd. Surviving, a son Boyde (sic), his father, three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. W. G. Christensen, Mrs. Edna Luker, Mrs. Thelma Van Leuven, Alvin Naef, Wallace Naef, Lawrence Naef.

ANDREW ALLAN BREESE, 65, died 30 April 1945 in Pocatello [Idaho]. He was born 1880 at Brigham City, Utah, a son of Jonas & Anna Allan Breese. He married Martha Andrews at Paris, Idaho 12 May 1904. Survivors – his widow & one son, Dr. J. E. Breese.

MRS. ZELDA G. SHELTON of Pocatello [Idaho] died 4 May 1945 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rene Coppard. She was born 17 Jan 1874 at Decatur, Ill. a daughter of Rollin & Jean Carr Maltby. She married Chancy N. Shelton in 1894 at Rocky Ford, Colo. Survivors, her husband & daughter & two sisters [and a brother?] – Harvey Maltby, Mrs. C. R. Cornelius, Mrs. Robert Pollack. Funeral 8 May in Pocatello. Burial in Pocatello.

MRS. SINA SORENSON YOUNG, 30, of Pocatello [Idaho] died 7 May 1945 from a car accident. She died in Lava Hot Springs [Idaho]. Body was taken to Pocatello. She was born 30 Dec 1914 at Dingle, Bear Lake Co [Idaho], a daughter of Andrew G. & Sarah Jane Weaver Sorenson. Survivors, her parents, six brothers & sisters, Eldon C. Sorenson, [sic), Arnold & Francis Sorensen (sic), Mrs. Sarah Kunz, Mrs. Dean Allen, Mrs. Leola Norman.

HEBER J. CHATTERTON, 54, died in Soda Springs 9 May 1945. Funeral 12 May 1945 at Arimo [Idaho], burial in Arimo. Born at Logan, Utah 2 May 1881 to Heber C. and Elma Louise Colpit Chatterton. Survivors: Kenneth Chatterton & two daughters.

MOSE HANSEN, 54, died 12 May 1945 at Salt Lake City [Utah]. Burial was in Axtell Cemetery at Axtell, Utah. Born 22 Jan 1891 at Axtell, a son of J. C. and Anna Sorenson Hansen. Survivors: two sisters & two brothers, Mrs. Marie Thompson, James & Aaron Hansen, Anna Follett.

JOSEPHINE MARY COPPARD, 84, died in Soda Springs 4 June 1945. Funeral 6 June in Soda. Interment in Fairview Cemetery. She was born 8 Sept 1860 in Dubuque, Ia., a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Antone Curin. She married Thomas Coppard at Idaho Spring, Colo. 1876. Mr. Coppard died 1928. Survivors, one son, Rene. Two daughters preceeded (sic) her in death.

MRS. EMMA ELIASON WHITE, 57, of Bancroft [Idaho] died 14 July 1945 in Soda Hospital. Born 9 Dec 1887 in Providence, Cache, Utah a dau of John E. and Anna Mary Barbara Fuhrinian Eliason. She married J. Roe White 1 Oct 1920 in Logan Temple. Survivors: husband, two daughters, Mrs. LaVerl Parnell, Mrs. Marguerite McClain – brothers & sisters, J. E. Eliason, Mrs. T. M. Corbett, Mrs. Joseph C. Call, Mrs. Thomas P. Gunnell, Mrs. Lillis Kelly, Mrs. Vick (sic) Millward, John G. Eliason & Mrs. J. C. Walker.

FRANK J. FRYAR, 54, died 3 Aug 1945 at Pocatello [Idaho]. Funeral 6 Aug 1945 at Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. He was born in Soda Springs 5 July 1891 a son of Issac (sic) & Frances J. Tigret (sic) Fryar. Survived: brothers & sisters, Lee Fryar, Reed Fryar, Mrs. Emma Allendorf.

SGT. KENNETH MORELAND, 25, of Charleston, W. Va., husband of Martha Tigert Moreland, was drowned 8 Sept 1945. Buried in Charleston.

JOE NELSON, 76, died 13 Sept 1945 in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda.

WALTER HENRY LEWIS, 83, father of Walter Diggs Lewis of Soda died 15 Sept 1945 in Pocatello [Idaho]. He was born 27 Dec 1861 a son of Megys B & Sarah Barton Lewis. Survivors, son Diggs & a daughter, Mrs. Opal Russey. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello.

MRS SODINE HORSLEY MOORE, 73, died 25 Sept 1945 in Soda. She was born 13 March 1872 at Soda Springs to Herbert & Sarah Edghill Horsley. She married Jesse Moore 50 yrs ago, 20 June 1888 at Blackfoot [Idaho]. Survivors – her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Viola Lauritson & Mrs. Jessie Gagon, one daughter, Mrs. Cassie Piar preceeded (sic) her in death. Funeral 27 Sept 1945. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda.

JOHN DAY REESE, 22, son of Mr. & Mrs. Bert Reese of Wayan [Idaho] was killed in a hunting accident 27 Sept 1945. He died enroute to Soda hospital. He married Mamie Goodwin at Soda Springs in July 1943. Survivors, wife, a son 1 ½ yrs old, two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor (sic) Von Berg (sic) & Mrs. Lucille Hirsbrunner. Funeral 1 Oct 1945 in Soda, Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda.

FUNERAL SERVICES were held 3 Dec 1945 in Grangeville [Idaho] for JACK THIRKILL, son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Thirkill.

HOMER WOODALL, 57, died 6 Oct 1945 at Soda. He was born in Soda Spring [sic) 15 March 1889 a son of Christopher T. and Ellen Doyle Woodall. His wife died 17 Nov 1928. Survivors: two sons, Max E. Woodall & Homer J. Woodall. Funeral 10 Oct 1945 in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

DR. CYRIL A. RICH, 53, of Lava Hot Spring (sic) [Idaho] died 14 Oct 1945 in Pocatello [Idaho]. He was born 27 Aug 1892 in Porterville, Utah, a son of Landon & Mary Florence Bratton Rich. 29 May 1918 he married Dorothy N. Agee in Memphis, Tenn. His wife died 5 June 1943 and on 25 July 1944 he married Patricia Ann Whitley. Survivors: his widow, a son & a daughter, Joseph E. Rich & Mrs. Dorothy Lorraine Piedmont, a brother & three sisters, George Rich, Mrs. Phoebe Spackman, Mrs. Florence Atkinson, & Mrs. Etta Hayes. Funeral & burial in Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum [Utah].

GEORGE JENSEN SKINNER, 64, died 4 Nov 1945 in Ogden, Utah. He was born 11 May 1881 in Ovid, Idaho. On Oct 11 1904 he married Zina Young in Paris [Idaho]. ADOLPH THOMAN, 64, died 4 Dec 1945 at his home. Funeral 7 Dec 1945 in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. He was born 9 March 1881 in Fergus Falls, Minn., a son of Adolh (sic) and Hannah Thoman. Aug 5, 1914 he married Virgie Estes at Pocatello [Idaho]. Survivors: his widow, one brother & a sister, Alfred Thoman, Mrs. Tillie Stanley.

MARYLIN SMITH, 15, dau of Mr. & Mrs. Elmer T. Smith, died in Soda 22 Feb 1946 from an auto (/pedestrian) accident. She was born June 4, 1920 at Montpelier [Idaho] to Elmer T. and Sarah T. Smith. Survivors: her parents, & a sister Helen. Funeral services 26 Feb 1946 at Montpelier.

HENRY BOLTON, 71, died 28 Feb 1946 at his home here. Funeral 3 March 1946 at Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. He was born in Logan, Utah 20 Sept 1874 to Henry and Mary Jane Smith Bolton. Survivors: his widow, Rose Bolton, two sons, Harry & Robert Bolton, one daughter, Mrs. Olga Davis. A son, Romain preceded him in death 7 yrs ago.

MRS JOHN GLAUNER, 68, died 1 March 1946 in Gooding [Idaho] hospital. Funeral was held 5 March at Hagerman [Idaho]. Emma Arminta Glauner was born 16 June 1877 at Preston [Idaho] to George W. & Lucinda A. (Bair) Sharp. She married John Glauner at Soda in 1893. To this union 7 children were born, four of whom survive. Mr. Glauner preceeded (sic) her in death 7 March 1945. Survivors, three sons Wesley, Ray and Frank Glauner, one daughter Sarah, one brother Lessil Sharp. 4 sisters, Elizabeth Bowles, Lola Paulson, Florence Campbell, Fern Cooper.

HENRY ANDREW VOLLWEILLER, 58, of American Falls [Idaho], a brother of Louise Vollweiller of Soda died 8 March 1946 at the home of his son Arthur Vollweiler. Burial in the Grove City Cemetery at Blackfoot [Idaho].

HENRY VERHAM SR. died 8 March 1946 in Soda. Funeral services 12 March 1946 in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. He was born 5 Jan 1882 in Amsterdam, Holland, a son of Abraham & Hilegina Atsema Verham. He married Mary A. Anderson at Soda 29 June 1911. Survivors – three sons Henry J. Verham, Jr., William A. , Earl F. Verham, two brothers, Wm & Abe Verham, 4 sisters, Mrs. Cobina Meachem, Mrs. Jennie Thompson, Mrs. Elsie Trampton, Mrs. Hellegina Boeve Hodrlem (sic)

MRS. FRED J. CHRISTENSEN, 26, died in Burley hospital. Funeral 3 April 1946. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. Velma Howell Christensen was born in Logan, Utah 30 Aug 1919, a daughter of Leslie & Margaret Howell. Survived by her husband, a daughter Eloise, four sisters, Mrs. Rita Wicker, Mrs. Rosella Hulse, Mrs. Mary Williamson, Mrs. Delta Waldron; two brothers, Thomas & Loyal Howell.

EDD SIMONSON, abt 62, father of Mrs. Lillie Ellis, died at his home 1 April 1946. He was born at Bear River City, Utah. Survivors – Mrs. Lillie Ellis, Orlando & George Simonson, Orval Simomson, Mrs. Betty Thomas, Von Simonson, Mrs. Roma Black, Mrs. Juanita Ballard – one brother & one sister, Lorenzo Simonson & Mrs. Annie Lavina Christensen. LINDA MARSHALL, 4 day old daughter of Kenneth & Isabell Marshall died 12 April 1946 at Caribou hospital. Funeral 13 April 1946 in the Sunset Cemetery in Twin Falls [Idaho].

VELOY ROSE SMITH, 12, died in the Caribou County Hospital 29 April 1946. She was born 2 Oct 1933 in Logan, Utah, a daughter of Edwin M. & Veneta Rose Smith. Funeral 1 May 1946 in Soda. Burial in the Logan, Utah, Cemetery. Survivors: her parents, two sisters Arnetta Iona Smith, Cheryl Kay Smith, 4 half brothers & sisters, Edwin B. & Von Fred Smith, Emma Jean Lakey, Enid K. GEORGE W. BARNES, 52, died 11 June 1946 in Soda. Funeral 14 June 1946 in Soda. George W. Barnes was born 4 April 1894 at Soda Springs, a son of Charles W. and Alice M. Barnes. A sister Mrs. Clara Bates preceded him in death.

EVERETT (NUGGETT) WILSON, 41, died 21 June 1946 in Caribou hospital. Funeral 24 June 1946 in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. He was born in Thurman, Iowa in 1905 to Francis Marion & Bertha Perkins Wilson. Survived by 4 brothers, Elmer S., Ernest, Elden & Leo Wilson and uncle Ira Perkins & a (sic) aunt Mrs. Pearl Brewer.

VIRGIL SKINNER, 3 yr old son of Mr. & Mrs. Brigham Skinner of Conda [Idaho], was killed 25 June 1946 (ran into a truck). He was born at Conda 22 Feb 1943 a son of Brigham & Barbara Shrives Skinner. Survived by parents & two brothers, Ivan & Boyd.

MRS. A. J. WILLARD, 41, died in Ogden [Utah]. She was born in southern Utah 23 Nov 1904, a daughter of David J. and Ivy Thompson Coombs.

CLARENCE MUIR, 45, OF Gray [Idaho] died 26 July 1946 in the Caribou hospital. Funeral 29 July 1946 in Soda. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Soda. He was born 1 March 1901 at Gray, a son of Olive Atkinson and George Muir. His mother preceded him in death. In 1923 he married Rhoda Schneider in the Logan Temple. Survivors: his widow, three sons – Darrell, Merlin and Gay, his father Geo. Muir, three brothers, Geo. Jr., Hazen, & Bert Muir, a sister Mrs. Irene Stocks.

GEORGE DOULL JR., 78, died 24 July 1946 in the Caribou hospital. Funeral 28 July 1946 in Soda. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery, He was born in Canada 7 Oct 1867 a son of Mr. & Mrs. George Doull Sr. His father was born in Scotland & his mother in Canada. He married Laura Swanson in Arco in 1899. Survivors – two sons – Harold B, Lawrence G. Doull; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Curtis & Mrs. Jeanette Konroth

RAY ALBISTON DAVIS, 38, of Pocatello [Idaho], died 28 July 1946 in Pocatello. He was born 29 May 1908 in Alexander, Ida. a son of Wesley C. & Laura Albiston Davis. He married Frances Fern Palmer 25 Oct 1943 in Pocatello. Survivors – his wife, a daughter, Sharon Rae Davis, a brother Ralph E. Davis & a sister, Mrs. Glen Ackerman. Funeral in Pocatello 30 July 1946. He was a nephew of Mrs. Len Cooley.

DEWEY BELL, 47, died 8 Aug 1946 near Soda on Largelliere ranch. Services were held 10 Aug in Central, Ida. Burial in Central Cemetery. Robert Dewey Bell was born in Logan, Utah 29 June 1899, a son of Neil S. and Emma Ramswell Bell. Survivors – two brothers, Neil & Dick Bell, two sisters, Mary Bell and Mrs. Jennie Cummings.

CARL OWEN GUSTAVESON, 24, son of Mr. & Mrs. Carl R. Gustaveson, died 10 Aug 1946 five miles west of Chesterfield [Idaho] (electrocuted). He was born 3 Oct 1921 in Chesterfield, a son of Carl and Lucina Sessions Gustaveson. He married Edna Dunagin in Liverpool, England Feb 1946, Funeral in Bancroft [Idaho] 13 Aug 1946. Burial in Bancroft Cemetery. Survivors, his wife – 4 sisters Mrs. Lucina Whitworth, Mrs. Daphnae Byington, Nordelle Gustaveson, Mrs. Evelyn Byington.

THOMAS P. ROMANS died 29 Aug 1946 in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born in Freport, (sic) Ohio 18 April 1874. Services held 3 Sept 1946, Burial in Caldwell. In 1902 he married Jennie Horsley of Soda Springs. She died 1917 at Wendell [Idaho]. 24 Mar 1920 he married Gladys Thompson at Portland, Ore. He was a former resident of Soda.

SARA DOLES, 59, died in Montpelier [Idaho] 10 Sept 1946, Services 13 Sept 1946 in Montpelier. Burial in Montpelier. Sara Jane Doles was born 2 Sept 1887 in Montpelier to James and Sena Christofferson. Survivors, 4 sisters, Mrs. Annie Cochran, Mrs. Martha Barnes, Mrs. Letie Sarbach, Mrs. Minnie Dray; one brother J. E. Christofferson.

He was born 11 Jan 1879 at Helsted, Denmark, a son of Lauritz M. & Jensine Eskildsen Christensen. 22 Nov 1901 he married Cynthia Helen Fox. Final Rites for Mr. [C. A.] “Gus” Stoor are being Held this afternoon at two o’clock at the Soda Springs ward chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Stoor was a member of the Lutheran church.

Mr. Stoor was a native of Portom, Finland, born Dec. 20, 1886 a son of John and Johanna Jestgiver Stoor. The family came to Soda Springs in 1893. He lived Henry Gray’s Lake before returning to Soda Springs. He married Irene Graham 35 years ago in Idaho Falls. She died in July, 1947. Surviving are a son and daughter, Elmer Stoor and Mrs. Idella Evans, both of Soda Springs; five grandchildren; three brothers and a sister, Roy Stoor, Salt Lake City; John Stoor, Blackfoot; Emil Stoor, Wayan and Mrs. Hilda Kunz, Bern; also the following half-brother and half-sisters; Vern Stoor, Soda Springs, Mrs. Elsa Doring, San Francisco, Calif. Mrs. James G. Hopper, Pocatello; Mrs. Anna Kunz, Bern and Mrs. Edla Whitehead, Rigby.

MRS. JOSEPHINE WINBERG SODERMAN, 74, died 29 March 1949 at her home in Soda. Funeral 3 April. Mrs. Soderman was born 7 Aug 1874 in Portom, Finland a dau of Isaac & Margaret Winberg. ALBERT JASON KNOLLIN, 87, died in Walla Walla, Wash. 4 May 1949. Funeral 7 May 1949 in Walla Walla, Wash. Burial will be in Kansas City 10 May. Survivors, his widow Cora W. Knollin, a dau Mabel Gail Knollin Kilpatrick, & Loyal Constant Knollin, James Charles Knollin. He was born 21 April 1862 in New York. He married 1 Jan 1891 Cora Wells a teacher of Pa. Survivors also include a sister Mrs. J. Harry Lewis, a brother Samuel Hamilton Knollin.

2ND LT. LIONEL M. RICHARDS, 23, who was killed 14 March 1945 in France. Funeral held in Soda 15 May 1949. He was born 12 Aug 1922 at Soda Springs a son of Lionel A. and Mayme Lou Richards. Survived by his widow now remarried, Mrs. John Toliver, his parents & three sisters Geraldine Nelson, Dianne & Jeanne Richards.

JOHN B. SOMSEN, almost 67, died 19 or 26 May 1949 in Soda. He was born 25 Nov 1882 at Boise [Idaho]. His wife preceeded (sic) him in death 1932. Funeral 31 May in Soda Burial in Cokeville, Wyo. H. F. (HOWARD) PICKREN, about 73, died 9 June 1949 on Blackfoot River near Soda Springs. He was born 12 July 1876 at Plattsburg N. Y. a son of George Gilson & Sarah Elizabeth Pickren. He married Bernice Strachan 24 Jan 1899, fifty years ago, at Soda. Survivors, his widow Bernice & two children, J. Fred Pickren and Mrs. Wayne Evans. Funeral 12 Jun 1949 in Soda. WALTER F. CHRISTOFFERSON, a Soda pioneer died 23 June at Raymond, Wash. Service held at Firth [Idaho]. Burial in the Grove City Cemetery at Blackfoot, Ida. He was born 30 Aug 1887 at Ten Mile Springs northeast of Soda Springs, a son of Chris & Bertha Christofferson. He married Myrtle Peeples 5 Mar. 1917 at Preston [Idaho]. She died 1933. Survivors: two sons Wayne Christofferson, Virgil Christofferson, a daughter Mrs. Bertha Presswoods, a sister, Mrs. T. A. Sterrett of Soda.

LOUISE MADSEN CALL died 7 July 1949. Funeral 9 July 1949 at Bancroft [Idaho]. She was the daughter of Asa and Cynthia Hulme Madsen born 28 Dec 1912 at Bloomington, Ida. She married Everett H. Call in 1934. Survivors: her husband, twin daughters, Cathryn and Carolyn, her father, Asa Hulme, a sister Leone Tingey. Burial?

JANETT SKINNER MUNRO, 56, dau of Hyrum Skinner & Elizabeth Ann Skinner died 13 Aug 1949 at her home near Soda Springs. She was born 9 Sept 1892 in Nounan, Idaho. She married Orren Munro in Paris, Ida 20 Dec 1910. To this union 8 children were born; one, Wilford William preceeded (sic) her in death 16 June 1931. Survivors: her husband – five sons, Orren Otto, Wilburn Hyrum, Forriest Marvil, Harold Devern, Dorrian Everett – two daughters, Illa Janett Barger and Mary Elizabeth – the following sisters Jane Foster, Harriet Thompson, Verle Monroe, Eugenia Crane, Erma Anderson & Pearl Schiffman – two half sisters Sadie Jewett & Leaha Huggard. Burial in Fairview Cemetery 16 Aug 1949.

LOUISE VOLLWEILLER, 64, died 22 Aug 1949 in Soda. She was born 12 Jan 1885 at Eppinign Germany the dau of Andress Vollweiller. ISAAC VIAS, 77, OF Wayne [Wayan, Idaho], died 24 Sept 1949 at Soda. He was born in Portom, Finland of Swedish parents on 3 March 1872. He married Maria Soderman 6 Jan 1901. To this union was born 8 children, five of whom died in infancy. Maria Vias died 20 Sept 1920. He married Meletha Chat Layland 26 Oct 1923. They had one son who died at birth. Survivors – his wife Meletha & three sons, Oscar, Ray and Alfred. One stepson Rex Layland, one foster son, Buster Vias. Funeral 27 Sept at Soda. Burial Soda.

JAMES DAVIS MCGREGOR, 66, died 29 Oct 1949 in Preston [Idaho]. He was born in Nound (sic) [Mound Valley] 14 July 1883. Survivors – his widow, ten sons & dau. including Mrs. Merna Clegg & D. Reed McGregor. Funeral 31 Oct at Mound Valley. Burial?

ELWIN REESE, 77, died 30 Oct 1949 at the home of a niece Mrs. Ann Pace in Clearfield, Utah. He was born in Wales in 1883. He married Mary Anna Farmer. Murphy & one brother, James F. Woodall. 2 brothers preceeded (sic) him in death, also his elder daughter, Melva who died 25 Dec 1905.
